Battlefield 2 Chinese Vehicles

Here is a full list of all the middle east coalition (MEC) vehicles in Battlefield 2

Wuzhuang Zhisheng ( WZ ) 551 – APC

The WZ 551 offers the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) the ability to quickly deploy infantry to almost any battlefield location. The six-wheeled armored personnel carrier is designed to cross rugged terrain, from trenches to rivers to steep grades. It’s fully amphibious, carries a 7.62mm machine gun, and is fitted with an NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) protection system, allowing it to operate in inhospitable environments. Since the PLA’s current imperative is to transform its forces into rapid reaction units, the WZ 551 provides the ideal method of transportation. The WZ 551’s 6X6 chassis is derived from Mercedes-Benz truck technology and designs. Several variants of the WZ 551 have been developed including combat support, self-propelled artillery, field ambulance, and civilian anti-rioting vehicle.

Wuzhuang Zhisheng-10 Helicopter

In contrast to the US and Russia, China had never had a dedicated attack helicopter. Enter the WZ-10. In development since the mid-1990s, the helicopter was specifically designed to swiftly eliminate enemy ground forces. A somewhat non-traditional attack helicopter, pilots sit side by side as they operate the WZ-10’s controls and weapons systems. Its munitions include: 57mm multi-barrel rockets, the HJ-73 “Red Arrow” anti-tank missile, and a 23mm machine gun mounted in the helicopter’s nose. Built with radar absorbent material and bullet-proof glass—and featuring numerous countermeasure devices—the WZ-10 is also more than capable of defending itself. Until full production of the WZ-10 offset their numbers, foreign-made helicopters composed the majority of the PLA Air Force’s inventory.

Zhisheng-8 – Transport Helicopter

The medium-sized Chinese Z-8 is based on the French Super Frelon transport helicopter. China purchased 13 of these helicopters in the early 1970s, and reverse-engineered them to produce their own version for use in rapid-deployment operations. Fitted with two powerful 1,500 hp turboshaft engines, the Z-8 is capable of transporting 27 armed soldiers, 5,000 kg of cargo on an external cable, or one Yu-7 torpedo for anti-submarine warfare missions. In addition, two door-mounted machine guns give the Z-8 the ability to assist infantry with close-in fire support.• The French SA 321 Super Frelon first flew in 1962. The first flight of a Chinese made Z-8 took place in 1985.• The majority of China’s Z-8s are operated by the PLA Navy supporting PLA Marines. A modified army variant is still in development.

Nanjing (NJ) 2046 - Heavy Jeep

The NJ 2046 is a heavy troop transport and field command vehicle. Derived from a civilian minivan and enhanced for use in the field, it features 4-wheel drive transmission, a turbo-charged diesel engine, and armor plating. Its cargo bed can be equipped with benches for transporting infantry, or configured with a canvas or steel roof to provide shelter during inclement weather. The NJ 2046 also serves as a weapons platform, supporting SAM-9 air-to-air missiles or the HJ-9 anti-tank rocket. A fully loaded NJ 2046 is transportable by air and can be air-dropped from up to 800 meters. The NJ 2046 was a joint venture by Nanjing Yuejin Motor Corporation and the Italian car manufacturer IVECO. Five parachutes are required to air-drop the NJ 2046

J-10 Fighter Plane

While the PLA Air Force’s fighter aircraft are generally regarded as obsolete by US, Russian, and European standards, China has taken great strides in the past decade to upgrade its fleet. The J-10 consequently embodies China’s dedication to producing an indigenous, modern fighter. A single-seat, single-engine, multi-role aircraft, the J-10 incorporates the latest avionics technology such as fly-by-wire and Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR). These give the J-10 maneuverability at high speeds and the ability to operate in any type of weather. The fighter can easily reach speeds of Mach 1.5 and faster, and is equipped to carry air-to-air guided missiles and laser-guided bombs for ground attack. The J-10’s development benefited from collaboration between Israel and China on fighter technology in the early 1980s.

Type 98 Main Battle Tank

Firepower, mobility, and protection are requisites for any tank that hopes to survive combat on the modern battlefield; the Type 98 meets and surpasses all of them. Developed during the early 1990s, the Type 98 represents the latest in Chinese design and manufacturing. Engineers based its hull on proven Russian and European models, and incorporated high technology to maximize its performance: a laser rangefinder, wind sensor, ballistic computer, and axis stabilization system ensure accurate firing of its 125mm cannon while on the move, while a combination warning/defense system protect the tank from enemy laser-guided weapons. The Type 98 made its first public appearance in October 1999, during a parade marking the 50th anniversary of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC). China developed two main battle tanks at the same time, the Type 96 and the Type 98.
