    Default Large Scale PvP:

I really hope we don't see another World of Warcraft, with this 'battleground' system. I want World PvP, I want to see nothing but battlegrounds. Maybe a few safe grounds, like, safe cities.

Though I think after a certain progression into the game, everything should be killable.

Battlegrounds killed World of Warcraft, don't let it kill Huxley.

Is that an actual fact or an estimate?

everyone keeps down grading this game.. no it wont be anyhting like WoW where u wait outside a damn portal.. they stated they will have instanced PvP zones which can be entered anytime UNLIKE WoW, and cap of 150 on each side UNLIKE WoW, did i also forget to mention how they said there were NON-instanced PvP areas? i belive the instanced is more for Clan vs Clan oriented, but still open to all. everyone should stop under estimating this game and relate it to other games. Huxley will be its OWN game

    Actual fact right now.

Large Scale World pvp would be nice, I loved the "glory" days of WoW when it was nothing but lvl 20-30's (maybe a few forties and fifties) and there was nothing but the constant town raids.

I too hope it's not gonna be like WoW. The waiting times were rediculous. But there seems to be a lot of evidence to suggest it won't be.

The more I read about this game the more I wana play!

I think the Game Designers know what they are doing. Free all out open world PVP with guns is probly not the best thing. I can sit on a hill with a sniper all day and kill people left and right without them having any clue where i was. Thats all fun for me but gd i'd hate to be on the other end.

Plus Instance like battles leade to a more in depth physics enging and cooler effects and other things that the system resources can process instead of having to dull it down for large amounts of people.

edit: if that post makes no sense its 8:30 am and i was up all night play9ing Lineage 2 so i can't really function. :/ i can't all night grind like i used to :*(

As you know, there will be a big battlezone in the middle of the map and smaller instances around + safe zones (cities).

To me, the idea of these battlegrounds sounds a little like a run of the mill FPS game inside of an MMO. If you think about it... your going inside an area to have a battle, much like connecting to a server like counterstrike or whichever. Then when your outside of the battleground it's an MMO.

I don't like the idea personally. I would like to see world pvp, like Tribes 2 on a huge scale.

Tribes 2 cut you off at 64 people, Huxley has pretty much doubled the amount of people in their massive battles. Sounds like it will be fun

Ill say it again. 5000 ppl per server, battles are capped at 120 ppl.

And yes, thats alot considering BF2 doesnt even come close to that though it can feel pretty occupied.

Dude the game is just barley gotten to a stable Alpha Copy. Time it goes to first beta run it will have changed, then the next beta with change it again, and yet another beta with change it again. by the time it is relase it will be a completly diffrent game.

I'm trying to let you know that PlanetSide is an MMOFPS. The only MMOFPS there is. Atm. If you would like an Idea of how an MMOFPS runs that would be a good game to find out, being as how it is the only one there is.

    Ok buddy, believe it now?

Yes it is Guyver. there are no other "Persistent" MMOFPS available yet. BF2 and others like it put a max of 64 players on the map and a normal fight lasts 30-60 minutes--non-Persistent.

PS can put as many as 400 people fighting on one continent (server) and the fight goes on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Yeah that's what I was thinking of. Plus he didn't mention if one was "persistant" he just said PS is the only one. Not the only one that people like.

That's almost like ignoring your second son because he's the geek and not a jock.

I played Planetside a lot, and the idea of the 120 cap dissapoint me. In PS u have a lot of posibilities to play with your Outfit everywhere, all of you, the time u want. In HXY maybe u cant play all of you, cause the Battleground is on 95% people, ant a half of the outfit cant play, yes i know. then go to another... crap!, In PS u figth for one objetive, dont fight for fight, bullets for nothing than leveling, u fight for one (simple as well) objetive. I dont like the idea to play a big CS going to one battleground to another and so on. Its Boring, no strategy, only a big CS with vehicles, and safe zones..... i hope not happen.
