It would probably be wrong to compare them anyway. They have like totally different storylines.
Hmm hard to say..i think "maybe" 2142 but i havn't really read up on either, i just seen screenshots and videos.

Quake Wars is a battlefield style game set in the Quake 2/4 Universe, that has battefield style gameplay but with more structured objective driven battles rather than flag capturing.
I dont think it will be anything like a MMOG and it doesnt sound like it will be anything like planetside, if anything Huxley sits between Quake Wars and Planetside.

Quake Wars is probably going to be better. Though I have to say I wasn't impressed with Quake 4. Reason that it'll be better than BF2 is because in Quake they don't have to keep it somewhat real, they can actually make it a fun shooter, not a real war type game.
Remember, realism != good gameplay.

Well it can, but it has to be done right.Originally Posted by Felix12g
Naw, a realistic game would not be fun. Take BF2 for example. If that was realistic it would be so slow paced and vehicle heavy that it would suck. The artillery support? Try a real mortar's fuck you up range of 200m. Or a tank's blast close by = you out of the fight. Grenades? Heh, those frags would just rip up people in the buildings. That's just scratching the surface. A realism game is not fun because you die too quickly and the equipment is so overpowered (Because it's designed that way) that an infantry wouldn't be much use.

I can't wait for Quake Wars:
"I need a medic!"
"I'm a medic."
"I need a medic!"
"I'm a medic."
"I need a medic!"
"I'm a medic."
I just loathed medics standing over your corpse and messing with you.

Just to let you all know that Quake Wars has actualy been delayed until 2007 according to Gamespy so maybe it wont be a game to play while we wait for Huxley so the search continues.
See the thing is that the games aren't actually delayed. The team has deadlines that they need to keep. If they don't then they don't keep their jobs. And if there are massive problems in a game where it is actually delayed, the cost is about $30,000 a month for a small-mid sized team.
You might wonder why everything is always said to come out alot earlier than it actually does. Magazines and reviewers always want dates. It's common practice in the industry to send out a date they won't even try to meet and just keep pushing the release date back towards their true deadline. A couple reasons, one people's anticipation build, and two, if a miracle does happen they can always release early (Yeah right)
These are also reasons why some magazines won't publish the release of a game until right before the game is released, be that days, weeks and sometimes a month beforehand. For the same reasons that everybody is pissed about the release dates moving back.

Meh, I'm good with Chromehounds, Godfather and RS:Vegas, not to mention Halo 3.
