Discussion on halo PC and halo custom edition.

For anyone that doesnt know custom edition(CE) is a version of halo PC that allows for user-created content: Halo 2 maps, Scarabs, and other things people come up with.

I love being able to play Halo 1 set to 1280x1024 running at 100fps!

Single player and modding on multiplayer maps is some fun stuff, but I can't quite grasp the enjoyment behind online play. Not only does it lag like hell but they actually put a "DING" sound in there to confirm your hits XD.

New maps and vehicles are pointless. Not many people cared about vehicles in Halo 1 aside from the Warthog. That one vehicle was enough to ensure victory or loss, control over the Warthog became a top priority for some strategies. Because of the extra vehicles and change of gameplay favor, online games became far too hectic with little to no strategy or communication.

Pft. I turn off the new weapons when I host a game. 'Nuff said.

Either way I think it still compares nicely to its Xbox counterpart. Many say it was an eff-up by GearBox but I think they did a good enough job with the port. They DID give us the options to turn off their new content, so it's really the players' faults for making poopy gametypes.
