Default What Is The Point In A Warlock?

So many times you walk around and see a Warclock but they never seem to be that important, They are sometimes good in a group but most of the time not needed atall really. The best move I seen a Warlock do is fear.

warlocks do good time over damage, and can do nearly as much damage as a mage tbh, also putting a soul stone on a priest or a rezer can really help in a team tack out situation

I've seen warlocks horrible undergeared outdamage almost everyone around them, they are a very good source of dps. Plus, i'm not totaly sure, but I think onyxia's deep breaths are related to the number of dots she has on her, less dots, more breaths. I think it may be how much damage is being dealt to her, and since dots keep almost a constant source of damage up she doesn't breath. Then again i've also heard its due to spacing and many other things so it may just be speculation. Plus summoning in big raids helps.

warlocks are helpful in groups, with soulstones, decent damage and stamana buffs and they absolutely own solo pvp. they just fear and dot, and theres not much anyone can do after that. they can also grind elite npc's much higher than their level if they know how to play right.

Warlocks are the easiest to level on the PvP side because of their DOTs, own private tank and ability to quickly regenerate their mana and then bandage to be max'd out again. Because of their DOTs and their fear abilities they can take on 3-4 monsters a level or two above their character constantly with little need for rest.

As for warlocks in PvP they also have a low learning curve. With death coil, fear and the dots doing all the work it makes it an easy class to play.

In groups warlocks are nice for the soulstones and the stamina buffs they can give. However their damage is largely gear based and when they go for their maximum damage output they can easily pull aggro unless they're careful.

Well i've been playing a lock (up to 44) and I can honestly say its the best class i've ever played. The other day (at lvl 42) i solo'd fozruk and his 3 little sidekicks, extremley easily i might add. In a group of 5 in SM cath i outdamage everyone by about 50k on the meter, plus healthstones always help the tank, SS's well they are just plain invaluable, plus i find just about every elite quest is soloable with my lock. Overpowered? Extremely, and I love it.
