Default Tons Of Questions About Huxley

This Game has a HUGE hype level so I hope its worth it..

    Here are my questions

    1. Big Cities? like how huge? Different races in each city?wouldnt lead to fighting?

    2. The whole Money thing like buying vechiles? and houses/apartments? possible? do we get to choose where we buy them?

    3. Fighting? I saw 1 of the videos and the graphics were good but not AMAZING like some of the screenshots

    4. Paying monthly for being able to play?

    5. CPUvs360? possible? controler for shooter > crappy mouse and keyboard.

    6. Do all the Male Alternatives look the same? all the videos ive seen they look the same...Customizeable guns? customizeable Armor?

    7. Why can you buy a place to live?

    8. How many people in each city area??

Thats it..thank you for your help..

i saw on teamxbox the release date is like 3/1/07

5 square kilometers is what they advertised them as last year. Each race has a home city with rumors of a third for 360 players.

    2. The whole Money thing like buying vechiles? and houses/apartments? possible? do we get to choose where we buy them?

Nothing clear on the monetary system besides it's existance and being able to buy weapons and other useful items. There was an interesting tidbit that vendors near the property your outfit controls will give discounts to your outfit.

    3. Fighting? I saw 1 of the videos and the graphics were good but not AMAZING like some of the screenshots

All but one of the videos were made in 2005 or early 2006. I'm not including the recordings of e3 and those types, just straight up trailers. The video from Nov. 19 shows some of the better graphics. It's more geared towards gameplay than showing off prettiness so you don't get much in the way of frills.

    4. Paying monthly for being able to play?

    Monthly payments are required.

    5. CPUvs360? possible? controler for shooter > crappy mouse and keyboard.

Possible and demonstrated, but not going to be in the game because of control issues. IE consoles get slaughtered.

    6. Do all the Male Alternatives look the same? all the videos ive seen they look the same...Customizeable guns? customizeable Armor?

Customizable yes, we don't know how though. As for models, almost certainly. We just haven't seen a large selection used in the videos.

    7. Why can you buy a place to live?

People like to do that in MMOs.

    8. How many people in each city area??

    5000 supposedly.

It is the UTIII Engine, therefore, you can expect fights to be very similar to the UTIII Gameplay fights we've seen. Add a few modifications and change the weapons and it's Huxley.

Anyways, that's the impression I got from the Gameplay demonstration.

Yes. They just slap a date on like most sites/stores do and just push it back as that date approaches.

And the graphics won't be AMAZING due to the fact that it is an MMO, not just an online shooter. To reduce lag and widen the market of people who can play it, the graphics have to take a slight hit. All the same, they are still very good, and you have to take into consideration the taping quality/time period when you watch some videos.

no offense, butI'm tired of people saying
    A) It'll be like WoW or
    B) It'll play like UT...

None of it' true... has anyone actually seen what it'll run on? Not the UTIII engine at all... the GRAPHICS are UT III ALL THE WAY....but gameplay...NO.....UT can only hold, max, about 24 players I've SEEN... on private LAN servers...but Huxleys? That times quiote alot.. so they would have to use the non existant UT IV engine just to run it... so I say this... It will not play at ALL like UT!!!

UT2k4 can easily support 30 players stock on a d800 laptop, let alone a server. That's without any modification to the game. The game does use the UT3 engine, what are you thinking it will run on, smoke? Lemme guess a nice big conspiracy theory as well?

First of all, no offense taken, but I would of appreciate it if you didn't half read my post.

Second, it is on the UT III engine. They modified, enhanced the networking, etc.

Third, UT 99 games can have a total of 32 players. I believe it is the same for UT2k4.

Last but not the least, like I said in my previous post, I felt the gameplay was similar, again in my own opinion and from what I've seen, to the previous unreal tournament series.

Here's a quote from the Webzen Games website, the producers of Huxley:
HUXLEY is a massively multiplayer online first-person shooter (MMOFPS) utilizing the Unreal 3.0 engine and WEBZEN’s proprietary networking technology to create an enriched game play experience with up to 5,000 players in the same world.

You don't make any sense. "Not the UTIII engine at all"? It IS using the U3 engine, for the gameplay. Size of battles doesn't matter, the U3 engine makes games the same regardless if it is 1 v 1 or 100 v 100.

You obviously don't understand the concept of what an engine is, and haven't watched gameplay videos. If you want it to not play like UT so badly, you're going to be dissapointed.

Simply: To pay for servers, and for updates.

GW, which is free, doesn't cost because updates come in the form of expansions, and everything is instanced so they don't really have to maintain many areas.

$5 a month would be awsome but I know there probably going to make you pay the $10 a month
