Want to learn about online gaming

I am interested in learning about online gaming, teaming up with others and such. The Mob game seemed interesting to start with but couldn't get past sign in. Not much of hand to hand combat person, could do shooter, pimping stuff and RPG I used to play on old game systems.

Any suggestions or place to learn terms involved.

Well if you are looking for something serious to get involved with then there is always something like World of Warcraft, if you are looking for something lighter then something like Battlefield Bad Company 2 may be you type of game.
